Betty Loh Ti(1937-1968) joined Shaw’s in 1958. The film The Enchanting Shadow (1960) she starred in gained international recognition at the Cannes Festival in France, and she was honored as “The Most Beautiful Chinese Female Film Star”. Her position of lead actress was thereby established. She starred in the film Dream of the Red Chamber (1962) in 1962, and her classic elegance won her the title of “Classic Beauty”. Subsequently, she won the 2nd Golden Horse Best Actress Award with The Love Eterne (1963). In 1964, having completed the contract with Shaw’s, she joined “Motion Picture & General Investment” in pursuit of her career goals. In 1968, Betty Loh Ti took an overdose of drugs, and died at the age of 31.
